Description
Two groundhog cubs chasing one another on a grassy field along an Ottawa road one morning.
The two cubs were part of a family of 6, two of which were the parent. Dad was nearby grazing on grass while mom would poke her head in and out of the hole to scan the area.
Did you know groundhogs are part of the squirrel family?
And like beavers, their front incisors grow continuously. They have to chew on hard surfaces to prevent their teeth from growing dangerously long.
